When A Midwest Winter Attacks Your Home

Midwest winters are notoriously unpredictable. We recently had a huge influx of frozen pipe breaks due to winter storms followed immediately by rapidly rising temperatures. When pipes burst we are there to help! We are faster to any disaster and are here to help make things "Like it never even happened."

SERVPRO Tips: The Other Effects of Storm Damage

During a storm event, water can flood a home only a few feet.  However, just because the water only touches the walls a few feet up, that doesn't mean that is the only area affected.  Water will wick up a wall and reach much further than one would think.  This photo shows a room after our team had performed "flood cuts."  They probe the walls to see where the moisture stops and then cut 2 feet above that, to ensure that there is no chance for microbial growth to occur.  We then dry the studs and area behind where the sheetrock once was.

So give us a call! We are faster to any disaster and we will be here to help make things "Like it never even happened."

When water pipes burst without warning, SERVPRO is here

After a pipe suddenly burst in a home owner's attic, the immense amount of water made the ceiling collapsed into the room below. Drywall and insulation went everywhere, and water damaged a lot of contents; including the mattress.

Disaster doesn't set an appointment! If it does strike, give us a call! We are faster to any disaster, and are here to help make things "Like it never even happened."

Storm Damage? SERVPRO is here for you

SERVPRO received a call from a homeowner that had sustained roof damage from a thunderstorm in the area. As a result of the damage to the home, water entered the home from several areas. After repairs to the roof, we started removing contents to our warehouse to dry. We opened up ceilings, walls, and flooring to begin drying the home. Once dry we returned the contents. We see situations like this all the time and can help you navigate the process.

House Flooded After A Bad Rainstorm? SERVPRO Can Help!

This photo shows a water line after a house flooded during a bad rain storm. When a bad flood happens, sewage backup, or water sits for days it is considered a Category 3 loss. This means baseboards, drywall, insulation, and affected flooring and other affected material must be removed and disposed of. In this room SERVPRO removed baseboards, removed affected sheetrock 2 ft. up and any insulation on interior walls (not shown in picture). This room does not need flooring removed because it is a tile floor and can be sanitized with an antimicrobial and dried in place.

Here at SERVPRO we are always ready to help, and we are faster to any disaster! We will make things "Like it never even happened."
